Congrats on the amp. So... how did it go wrong, or right? ?
Thanks Sean...Well it went all wrong because :
1. The Express is switchable between 5 watt Class A and 50 watt Class AB, so I could replace both my 12R Cub and VC30 with one amp.
2. The Express has the same tubes as a Twin Reverb (6l6'es) and does a very convincing Fender Blackface clean.
3. The Express has a amazing blues overdriven tone.
4. It doesn't do metal.
5. The Express looks and feels solid.
6. I A/B'ed the Express and a few Fender amps.
7. I read this
http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=694801
8. Saw too many guys desperate to get rid of their Hot Rods on the classifieds (here and gumtree).
9. Apparently the SA distributors for Mesa Boogie went out of the Country and I got a very,
very good deal.

nice buy, i bet you gonna be rocking the blues with this baby.
Thank god for those wheels, Mesa's can be pretty much on the weighty side, but they are Rock solid amps..... I don't think you gonna be sorry by not getting the fender.
Yes the blues channel on it is really amazing, thanks Needleshy 8) And yes, the amp really
needs those wheels, it is 32kg or something...

sweet amp! one of my favourites! If i had the money, this would be on my list!
But then again, i prefer 2x12's to 1x12's, but thats just me!
enjoy your amp ?
I prefer the 2x12 as well, and when I bought the amp I knew that the 1x12 was far more practical, but the 2x12 was just R500 more than the 1x12... Now I have a gym ?

Congrats... and yes you won't ever regret buying a MESA
That amp is such a monster my Chrome couldn't even load its pic.
Very curious to hear its beefy overdrive/distortion tones. I'm sure its silky smooth yet Plenty O Crunch
? I am curious as well, I am tempted to crank the amp but haven't been able to use the full 50watt at home yet, the 5watt is plenty loud already ?
Thus far I am not regretting the Mesa choice at all but I just hope that this amp still sounds good in 5/10 years time...
