it is sweet (less so that spiced gold or sothern comfort), and i would not drink 10 of them but to have a double/triple shot over loads of ice and taking ones time with ...its good stuff.... its the one alcohol i would drink by myself in the evenings after a hard day at work i reckon

well, i might give it a try then. but i'm definitely more of a single barrel/gentleman jack kinda guy. if and when, will let you know...

i'm really not that pedantic about it. i'll happily savour a peaty single-malt scotch one night, and spend the evening with a smoother irish blonde the next. the yanks are never far out of reach, to be honest, and i'll mix a tennessee whiskey right in there with a booker's, a maker's mark, or any other fine - affordable - bourbon. sometimes, though, cost does get prohibitive. ridiculous, really. and then i find myself going out on a limb and arranging to be invited out on the company's tab.

Bought a bottle but didnt like it so gave it to the girlfriend ?

Had JD beer a few years ago... limited ed. I suppose since haven't seen it since. The Honey is ok but not my fave.
I prefer bourbon to JD, and almost anything to scotch.

spent a bit of time in oz, and tgi fridays was a popular spot to take the kids before or after a movie at one of the malls. they had an a$$-kickin' jd bbq sauce. you could put it on a burger, ribs, chicken (flattie or pattie), just with chips, really you just needed a teaspoon and a gullet it was that good. chunky and tasty - bit like a good ol' fashioned monkey-gland sauce.

no monkeys were harmed in the writing of this post.

Ya! Its good stuff! Since i became vegetarian the sauce helps suppress any nostalgia for meat, without tasting too much like animal. I got it at the local pick n pay ... Also, i see they brought back dr pepper, i bought a can a few months ago at some random shell garage, for like eight rand. Alot cheaper then thirty rand at those american speciality stores. Mmm dr pepper and jd bbq sauce.

Prefer the Wild Turkey American Honey myself. Pity I can't find it anywhere anymore...
