Opening these tuning pegs..? (Ibanez Les Paul)

I would just like to know if anyone knows how to open these tuning pegs..? Also is it possible to do this while the guitar is strung?

I just want to open them for a bit of maintenance as it feels as though the gears inside are slipping when tuning. Apparently there is a screw on the inside that needs to be tightened.

Sealed tuners. You can open them by using a miniature screwdriver to pry off the covers on the backs, but the covers always get a little damaged in the process.

You can leave the guitar strung, but lower the tension of the strings all the way before tightening the screws or you risk damaging the threads on the brass gear.

I'd try explain but i think this shows it better, basically push the back out with the post.

Will need to take the tuners off though for safety sake
