So while spraying my soopastrat build, i got busy with this one and would you believe it, finished quickly.

Very happy with the outcome. I blocked out the logo on headstrong (because it's my name)

Plays like a dream and rocks out

For the neck i lacquered it.

The body i used sanding sealer .
There was much debate around oils etc. Even engaged a few builders.. the general consensus was that for a natural finish i should go with sanding sealer . It worked great. Chuffed with the result.

Very cool build, looks awesome, love that naturale finish(don't know why manufacturers colour spray mahogony when its such a lovely looking wood) must sound wonderful as it's a 1 piece, What bareknuckle and dimarzio is in there? how are they sounding with the mahogony, as far as i know mahogony is very dark sounding, does african mahogony share these dark characteristics?

Needle

The bareknuckle is the blackdog and measures 9.7k. I thought long and hard about good matches trying to use the stereotypical consensus on wood tonal properties.

I was looking for a vintagy 80s sound and was drawn to the blackdog thanks to its pronounced mids and highs.
Then i got hold of one of the bareknuckle guys on the forum and he recommended this too.. i like it, it's a super clean sounding pup with great dynamics.

Ive bought 3 different models and have 2 of them fitted. Both are great. Their support is great.

The Dimarzio is the yngwie model, yjm. Not great, not bad... it's fine... not as nice as some of the seymour Duncan singles I've used.

I wouldn't say the mahogany is dark sounding. I think warm is closer to the mark, but the bareknuckle is a great match.. can't help but hit out some classic rock.

On saturated distortion, there is a tight bottom end too so all in all, great pup.

Can't say enough good things about bareknuckle. The other one is a holydiver and it is awesome.
Can't wait to install the coldsweat in my other build

Looks great! One-piece "slab" bodies are always good. Pickup combo is similar to the Vigier Bumblefoot sig. I like the neck figuring too (what is the neck? A MM?).

Body contouring imho also never looks bad on a Strat, 'even a soopa' and it adds a bucketload of comfort... Could still do?
