NGD : step into my parlour

Picked up this sexy little blonde at TOMS on Friday and I haven't stopped grinning since.

9 series parlour shape Larrivee with flamed maple back and sides.

Saw her a few weeks back and it was love at first sight.
Finally got up the nerve to play her last week and realised I couldn't live without her.
Second hand so she needs a little bit of TLC but she has hardly been played and sings like a bird.

I love the Larrivees - they always look so classy with just the right amount of bling. Parlour is my kind of size too - just as well I'm not much of a steel acoustic player or I'd be positively green with envy right now.

Beautiful guitar. Congrats. .....and the body is quite deep too. Must have a big mid and bass there supported by the clarity of the maple. Is that an ebony fingerboard ?

I have always preferred smaller guitars, dreadnoughts just feel big and clunky to me. Bass is huge for a small guitar and she has a beautiful midrange clarity.
Fingerboard is ebony with silver dot inlays.

Sorry didn't see your q until now ...

Took her in to Music Connection for a setup and to install an LR Baggs Ibeam so she's out of action for a few weeks and I'm playing my GB at the moment (shame I know 8))

I have been playing some original stuff with bigMike ... "Afro ethno bongo" he is what he calls it.
On my own I play mainly standards and have been working on chord melody a lot : Dream a little dream, Stompin at the Savoy, Summertime, When I fall in love, When you wish upon a star, Tenderly etc. Heavy going on the brain and the fingers but really worthwhile when it comes together and thanks to the great Tony Russell I have been making some progress

Interestingly this guitar has changed the way I play (for the better) since the short scale makes mincemeat of some of my my normal fingerings. Forced me to re-examine some aspects of my playing I took for granted and I think my technique has improved because of it.
