Bob-Dubery August 16th is the date on which two of Mississippi's most influential musical sons shuffled off this mortal coil and went to the great jam session in the sky: Robert Johnson and Elvis Presley.
Squonk Still remember that day in 1977 clearly. The whole Elvis collection was played around the clock even the Christmas Elvis album that had that song "...Well it's Christmas time pretty baby, and Santa Claus has come to town..." Both parents were huge fans and this was like a death in the family.... The next month in 1977, I played T Rex albums around the clock, which the parents didn't exactly appreciate. I was trying to tell them that Marc was as big as Elvis...
vic Thanks for reminding us.... This is one my favourite "later" Elvis performances....what a voice =
