Bob-Dubery
Well this morning I finished Roger Lucey's Back In From The Anger. I am trying to get my head around censorship, not on the grounds of things we don't talk about here on GFSA (which is a straightforward issue for me) but on grounds of things like rude words, general offensiveness and things you don't want your kids to hear. Lucey's book is exactly zero use in this regard, being a straightforward autobiography rather than an examination of censorship. So today I took delivery of a book called Shoot The Singer, edited by one Marie Korpe.
Lucey's book is frank, warts and all and pulls few punches (about himself, several people who did things he obviously disapproves of are usually not named, merely referred to as "a prominent guitarist" or by some other similarly vague label). Disillusioning in parts too - especially the chapters that deal with his attempts to get a major label deal, the meetings and auditions in the USA and the UK.
