Switch I reckon, had similar symptoms before and the switch is most likely to fail in my experience.

I was going to get some pedals modded, but I never got around to it, so I can't vouch for the quality - but over a few chats he did seem to know his stuff.

It suddenly stopped working and the delay signal is very very faint

I played on my new seriously special twosome and the FIXD fuzz side just died? I can hear it very faintly. when bypassed my signal is also very faint.

If the pedal is true bypass, and I suspect it is, then based on the information that it doesn't even work in bypass mode, either you have a faulty 3PDT footswitch, or some bad soldering resulting in dry joints between the I/P and O/P jacks and the switch or something is shorting the bypass signal path to earth, possibly a jack that has twisted and is touching a pot or some other earth point. You could check some of these possibilities visually by removing the back cover.
I have made many pedals and would be happy to take a look at it, but I'm in Johannesburg. You could post it to me if you can't find anyone to help in Cape Town.

If you don't come right with Matt, try my guy Andre v. d. Sandt - 082 367 2297. He's in Durbanville, has decades of experience in musical electronics (he was head of the Roland workshop for years) and can work on everything up to and including SMD circuitry.

Thank you all for assistance. I am currently waiting on PGS response then I will decide what needs to be done and the best method.

Such a crap feeling getting new gear and it dies straight away...especially when you loved it.

I think I shall call him in the morning. It is going to cost me R600 just to ship the pedal back. Then customs will nail me VAT again on the returned unit. seems crazy when I have already paid so much.

Sounds like a power problem to me. From my experience, when you're getting sound, signal path is probably fine. I'd suggest check the power supply first. If not, maybe open up the pedal and look to see if there are any wires that have broken off anywhere, mainly around the power jack area, but also the stomp switch and input jack. If not, then a solder joint elsewhere or blown component transistor/diode/opamp.

I tried using a different power supply. opened up and all looks fine. the funny thing is that their is pretty much no signal in bypass (although you can hear it faintly) but when you use the second side of the pedal it works 100% ? freaky.

Sounds like the switch to me. I built a Proco rat distortion copy with a friend a while ago and my switch is doing the same thing intermittently. I was a bit heavy handed with the soldering iron and some parts of the switch have started melting! I'll let you know if when I upgrade from the dpdt to the 3pdt switch if the problem goes away!
