My first electric guitar

I only picked up a guitar in January of this year, but am already hooked past the point of no return :-[
I have a Yamaha F310 acoustic and while I am happy with it I have been yearning for an electric guitar for a little while now. I go to lessons with Ian Visser in Paarl and he sneakily let me play with some of his electrics at my last lesson. The Mexican Fender Strat and the PRS Santana SE really caught my ear. I now NEED an electric guitar but am struggling to convince the wife ☹

I am going to have to promise to pick up more doggy do, wash the dishes for a month and anything else I can think of to convince her that tomorrow is the perfect day to go shopping 8)

This guitar stuff is addictive ?

Buy it for HER!!! It worked for me - for two days, until she realised that it was a con. I'm a bachelor now. :-[

I am now the proud owner of a Jimmie Vaughan signature Fender Stratocaster. It has vintage tuners, v shape neck and Tex Mex pickups instead of the standard MIM set. It feels great and sounds even better :goodtimes: :dance:

Now I just need to improve my playing so that I can do it justice.

Ah! Those are some of the better Mexi Strats (although the pickups are a bit bright for my tastes). COngrats!

If it makes you feel better, Jimmie uses his signature guitar as is from the factory!

Apologies for the poor photo quality but was taken on my cell phone. I will take a better quality pic at a later stage and post if required ? . I placated my wife by telling her that I had checked on the forum and none of its members had more than 2 guitars in total, so this was definitely my last guitar purchase and she did not have to worry. Ahem......maybe she will forget that but I doubt it ?

But seriously though, don't try pull the wool over the S.O's eyes - too easy to get busted (and once you lose trust...). I buy guitars and my wife buys cameras ...and occasionally she buys me guitars and I buy her cameras. ?
