AFAIK this is how he started live performing - playing solo and acoustic at TJ's many years ago.

I note that recently he's done a couple of shows with Guy Buttery.

There is an acoustic number on his new album. I saw him perform it a morning news tv program, it was good stuff, not just a transfer of his electric chops to acoustic, alternate tuning with some great fingerstyle.
