Hello guys...

long time since i posted a question like this...

The Strymon Flint is now available, shipping in 2 days after payment...
What should stop me from getting this pedal?
I know one or 2 people have purchased direct from Strymon, how did you find the experience?

Also, the only thing, i would probably be sacrificing something if im an early adopter right?

at the mo, landed cost is around R27xx ex ZA VAT... including, its just over R3100 or so...

good deal?

SOunds like you have made up your mind already. Strymon is always quality stuff and rarely goes on any kind of sale anyway, so the only knock you take is from being the original owner.

I've bought directly from Strymon twice, once for the Brigadier right after it was launched and the second time for the Favorite Switch. This was before there was a local distributor. Both transactions went just fine. I don't think you'll have any issues. Being an early adopter didn't hurt me at all as the pedal was perfect from the beginning and subsequently there haven't been any revisions or changes. Strymon seem to get it right the first time.

Thankfully my amp has built-in tremolo and reverb, so I can get away with not compulsively buying a Flint, as much as I would like to. ? I'm sure it's an awesome pedal.

I recently bought a Bluesky off the site. Was super easy.

Took a while to get here and I ended up paying around R3100 in total.

I want a Flint pretty damn bad... but now that I have a dedicated reverb pedal I just can't justify the R3k on a stand alone tremolo, no matter how black the pedal is or how awesome it would look on my board next to my Strymon duo. I wish I could make it a trio...

Buy the damn thing, it's awesome, and as said before, if you don't like it... *puts his hand up* then I'll take it.

okay, so im going to need a power supply...

i remember reading good things about the meanwell supplies..

i spotted the one, but also found another, with a little more current for less than R300 incl vat...

the first one has an output of 2A at 79% efficiency,
the second 2.77A at 80% efficiency...

Considering the flint is only the first in a line of a few pedals to come in future, which should i buy??
the 2A, or the 2.77A?

Personally, im leaning toward the 2,77A one myself..

both supplies are grounded too!

I have a Dunlop DC brick, there is also the "Supacharger", T-Rex "Fuel Tank" and Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2, etc.

look, i'd love to buy this power supply:

Cioks TC10 but i have no idea where to get it from...

next on my list would be the Eventide Powerfactor Power supply

the other two are from decibel 11, a new company...
Hot Stone Deluxe Power supply really good specs, pretty much the same as the Cioks and the Eventide..

Hot Stone HC Power supply - pretty much the same as the voodoo labs equivalent... the difference though, is that i read some not so good things about the voodoo equivalent! The other thing, is that Decibel 11 want me to buy the Deluxe, and not the HC, so im also put off that one slightly...

Well, the Eventide is made by Cioks...

but now im comparing the Cioks DC 8to the Decibell 11 Hot Stone...
same price before shipping...

same 5 year warranty... ugh...

I'm also trying to just get the pedal board that I want in my head and only buy those pedals. But knowing me, I'll probably end up with a hundred pedals by the time I'm 40... ?
