Even if you can't play harmonica, you'll be able to get rhythm out of it.

Tongue Blocking

Draw (suck) on it and then slap your tongue on and off repeatedly
blocking the holes you're sucking. Aim to be rhythmic.

Draw on your harmonica and then use your tongue in a left to right,
side to side blocking motion. Do it fast and you'll get a tremolo effect.

Draw on your harmonica and use your tongue to block just the middle
holes of the (probably) 4 you are sucking on. This produces octave notes.

I read it but only got to try it a few days later during band practice so I was not able to properly play round with it. I could not seem to get the desired result. I have had to shut down my music room as we have guests for the long week end so am not really able to give it a good go yet but will try again next week.

hUH, RYTH on a harmonica? I have one, inhereted from my grandfather. Not that I have a passion for the thing, but grab it and play(rather mess) around with it once in a while. Will try it...

Absolutely on the button....coaching.
The reason I made striding progress is
because I (fortunately) managed to get in front of a half dozen
pro players and had some lessons.

They fast tracked me in certain vital techniques.
Firstly, playing clean single notes, secondly,
what to do with your tongue, thirdly, tone tone tone,
and how shallow blues harp must be made big and beaty,
fourthly, bending notes with precision.

My initial intro stands though.....using your tongue to block
notes creating rhythm. Easy technique, to master? Practice.!
