Last months challenge resulted in a tie between EZ and deeftes so I have decided to use a topic that was submitted by the winner of mays challenge Greg and the theme is....

Balkan Music

Well, to be fair I know just about as much about Balkan music as I do about Funk and Iron Maiden - so would have had to google for an idea of what's required anyhow. This should be fun..... ?

People tend to confuse style and nationality. Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher were both Irish, but they didn't play particularly Irish music.

Don't worry guys I'm as much out on the black sea as everyone else . I know Humgarian minor scales. My hipster daughter goes to Balkan parties and gets amped when I play Django Reinheart music so I think that may be a clue :-[

Research the bands Leningrad and Gogol Bordello and/or watch the film Everything is Illuminated. But as a genre, it's pretty wide - lotsa brass, trad Russian, Turkish, Gypsy, rock and punk.

Eish, this one has gone flying right over my head. I've sat down a couple of times with the intention of conjuring up something but I never got close to anything that sounded like a song, much less a Balkan song.
