So last night I visited a girl I know and I picked up her guitar and played a few songs... This is when I realized that two of the strings were "dead sounding" . They dont resonate like they should. The notes just die out... Now ive played on this guitar before it was restrung recently. What could be the problem? I told her to to take the guitar back to the guy who restrung it and give him a smack against the head
Edit: It's a cort acoustic guitar toward the more expensive range of cort guitars

It would help if we knew more about the guitar. Electric? Steel string acoustic? Nylon string acoustic? Are the strings in question "dead" when open? When fretted? At certain frets only? What sort of bridge blah de blah. Did the problem start only with the re-string? Was any other work done at the same time.
BUT
This is not an intonation problem. Intonation is about the string staying in tune as you move up and down the neck.

are the replaced strings the same specs as the previous set of strings?

I just realised I didn't give much detail and I posted my edit... Also the new strings are D'addrio exp's although Im not sure what the guage was before and what it is now. the saddle looks like its a composite. The strings in question are the A and G strings
And no other work was done apparently. Just a restring

When in doubt, always change the strings (again) first. Brand new is no guarantee they will be right - through the years I've had many duds right out of the box. Then only if the problem persists do you start looking at nut, saddle and other things.
