jcm800 output problemo. Technician needed.
shawnv
Hi 8).
I have an 1982 Jcm800. The volume drops about 80% after about 20 secs and then it sounds like a strong compressor as I play. :'(
My guess is the output valves have seized, although I see no cracks or black spots on them. The pre-amp valves also look spotless. I have JJ tubes in.
I doubt the elctrolytic (spelling?) caps have ever been replaced and plan on changing them when money comes in. However, I have to keep working and a few shows/recordings to complete this week. I will replace the output valves and hope it solves the problem for now.
Any amp technicians out there than can have a look? I stay in Linden/Randburg area in JHB.

Been using JP Le Roux for my amps for a whole now- he is excellent! In the roodepoort area.
