The guys at CT branch have always been good to me, they do seem to never remember me even though I am there often but they always asking if I need a hand with anything etc.

I spied a little something that piqued by interest, could be a NGD hopefully.

That's fairly run of the mill for MM Woodmead. More often than not I don't buy, even when they do have what I'm looking for... Still, they're just down the road, and if they do have that loop pedal for cheap, I will gets it...

Yeah, I must say the times I've dealt with Stu, the experience was good. I recently bought my MESA amp from them. And it is not an item that has a quick turn around, and it was the same guy who sold me the MESA. He did not represent the shop as a business who wants to business, but more as someone who just HAD to be at work.

Maybe he was sick or something but it really felt like they do not even care that I drove all the way to thier shop for business.

Then I did get helped. And it turned out to be very pleasant after all.

So, loop pedal bought, and I have new hope for the service at Marshal Music ?

I always find sales to be a bit underwhelming. Maybe just bad experience (with Bothners). The most recent example - I needed to buy a drumkit. Went to Bothners during their "drum month" looking for a Gretsch Catalina kit. Marshall Music beat their price and included Gibraltar hardware.

So much for "drum month".

Hopefully the Marshall sale was better.

You have to be selective, even on sales. They'll do the "everything on special" thing with a blanket discount that's not necessarily much better than the standard discounts (worse in some cases if you get good prices). But there will also be stuff mixed in between, the "dead" or "end of line" stock that they will mark down radically. Last year's Drum Month I got my Roland TD-12K kit for less than half price (the new version had just come out and the TD-12K was the last old one in stock).

The big problem I have is stores used to have a list of specials that you could look through and see if there was anything worth making the trip to get. Likewise with specials on the other end of the country - if I see something on a list worth paying the shipping on, I'll order it. These days, you don't get any info beyond the "Everything on special" sop, so I usually don't bother.

What also doesn't help is that between all the stores, they are killing it - nary a month goes by without at least one special birthday, "X" Month or something else vying for my disposable readies, with the result that I rarely have any disposable readies left.
