When I look back at this, while I love the Boston song, it's my favourite 'uplifting' tune. There are others for different moods.

For instance when I'm angry, like REALLY angry, a song by 16 Stitch called "Bovril" off their 1st album just hits the spot.

Then I remember being dumped and lying in bed listening to the radio and they played Tree63 "A million lights" followed by Bush "Letting the cables sleep" It was such a sad combo. Boy did I cry...

What music stirs hectic emotions for you lot?

Francis Lai's "Theme from Love Story" hits my emotional button.

Strange the Tree63 song would seem sad to you, The words are uplifting but I suppose the tune is a wee bit melancholic....but a great song nonetheless.

ja it's a great love song. Given the context I'm sure you can see why it was sad at the time. That constant whistle is very emotional.

Lots of things. Like Jack, I could produce a loooooong list. I don't want to say that it's the point of music to invoke emotion, but it's one of the things it can do and it's sort of a meta thing when that happens.

But two covers by two great singers that always push a button inside of me somewhere: The late Sandy Denny singing Buddy Holly's "Learning The Game"

and Norma Waterson singing the Grateful Dead's "Black Muddy River".
