From The Bioscope's web site After the extremely popular Real Music Wednesdays in Cape Town, Brewers & Union, PUMA and Rolling Stone Magazine have teamed up once again to bring the popular REAL MUSIC WEDNESDAY to The Bioscope. This Wednesday (25th) it's Black Cat Bones at The Bioscope, free, gratis and for nothing.

Friendly too. Squonk and I went together. I directed Squonk to my usual parking spot, which is under a fly over. I was planning on taking my usual short cut through the hall they use for the Sunday market, but the guard, for some reason, wasn't keen on that so we had to walk the long way around. He asked me "do you know how to get there?" I said "I'll find it, can't be that hard". He walked with us to the next corner, called somebody on his walky talky and said "walk straight down there, I've just spoken to the guy at the other end of the block and he's expecting you and will walk you to the venue."

And so it was. By that time I'd got my bearings anyway, but a nice, friendly touch.

X-rated Bob wrote Latest info I have about these is that ~~they are EIGHT thirty shows~~ the EVENT starts at 19:00 and the music starts at 20:00. There is a shuttle bus service - 'Mabogo' - from the Rosebank Gautrain station to Arts on Main leaving the station at 19:30. There's a return bus after the show. R30 (I don't know if that's both ways or one way, I have asked for clarification).

The bus service is mostly for people living in Maboneng, to provide a convenient way to get to and from Park Station and certain major metro bus stops. However, they do run it for musical events and things like the full moon night market. It runs from the Rosebank Gautrain station (so you can easily get to Maboneng from Sandton or Centurion or Kempton) and stops right outside the venue. It was parked right outside as we were walking out. It's a sort of 10 or 12 seater, so booking is advisable.

I've heard Black Cat Bones are the shit. Been trying to catch their act for a while. From Bob and Sean's recent experiences it sounds like the venue's about as safe as anywhere in urban SA.
