While I made a pretty penny selling it, I hated my epiphone special II, 100% total piece of crap, cheap and nasty hardware, bad fretwork, bad sound, really terrible to set up as that alone took a week because the piece of bovine excretion wouldn't stay in tune.
LOL, I can only see the classifieds ad:
"Epiphone Special II, 100% awesome guitar, expensive and classy hardware, excellent fretwork, excellent sound, really a pleasure to set up thanks to its excellent tuning stability."
Hey wow! I never thought I'd make such a pretty penny selling it ?
LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........I remember being asked by a guy why I'm selling, I just said, it's too nice a guitar to strip down and hotrod. Cosmetically it looked brand new. But you can see that it was built to a cost.
The worst was when I bought it, I thought damn this dude has just given me a bargain......I think I paid a grand for it, I went home and played it and thought, whoaaaaaaa, WTF is up with this thing.......I hear some guys really dig their old specials, I just never bonded with my hunk of braai wood.
Someone ended up buying it off the junktree for I think R1500. I thought that I'd suck a price out of my thumb and I had a load of people that wanted it, no haggling. Damn I could of probably sold it for more.lol.
