Squonk I was a bit of a Deep Purple fan and Jon Lord was a huge talent and possibly took a back seat to Blackmore but was the driving force behind the band. Concerto for Group and Orchestra is quite an eye opener into his ability as a musician.
charleshaupt R.I.P... Jon Lord.....saw DeeP purple and Uriah Heep at the Randshow around 1996. Steve Morse on guitar, and Jon bringing the house down on a Hammond B3 .... intense .
Hammeron strataxe wrote RIP. Saw them last year/2010 at the Dome. Fantastic show. Mr Lord will be sadly missed. Saw the Dome show to, of course Lord was no longer with them then, Don Airey was on the keys.
