Maybe you guys need to visit Scotland, Not much love for the English there at all.
My family hate the English so much that they are praying for Glasgow to have a huge international Airport so they don't have to stop off in London ?
I have visited Scotland and I am very much aware of their hatred for the English - and I have zero sympathy. I mean really, they almost take pride in the fact that they hate each other so badly. In my opinion that is not something to be celebrated, rather, I think they should be ashamed of themselves. I'm saying this on the birthday of the great reconciliator himself, a man who's attitude towards hatred vs. reconciliation played an enormous role in tipping this country to the right side of the knife edge it was teetering on.
I lived in Ireland for a couple of years and the ridiculous hatred they have for the English makes me sick. Not one of the Irish I've met have been affected personally by the supposed wrongs that the English have perpetrated on the Irish, but they've been taught by their parents to hate the English and they in turn were taught by their parents to hate the English. It's ridiculous, it's rotten to the core and I am thankful to live in South Africa where at least there is a general attitude of reconciliation.
OK, that was a bit heavy but now that's off my chest ? Obviously the Scots don't hate the English enough that they won't participate under the British flag in the Olympics.
