I really don't wanna screw this up, or else its an expensive pedal going boom.
My Electro Harmonix HOG is currently using a power supply that is generating much too much noise. I got the mantech one, but I'm not too certain what the HOG's polarity or whatever is.
What I want to do is:
take the power input(not sure what you call them) from figure 1 off, and replace that with the input on figure 2.
As you can see, the adaptor for Figure 1 is american, so it's useless to me. It's output is 9v DV 500mA. The mantech is the same, except with much more Ampage. Reading on other forums, people have said the polarity for a HOG is different to your convensional Boss PSU. Therefore, based on what I remember is that all I need to do is swap the unshielded copper around. So if I slice off [Figure 1] and Slice off [Figure 2] and attach [Figure 1]'s power input to [Figure 2], it should work. No?
This begs the next question, how does one know which way will yield a different polarity?
*Oh - in the blue, [Figure 3], I got the plug that according to another topic on this forum, which is used "to reverse the polarity" of the Mantech unit. It was cheap, so went for it. Is that the normal boss size input? otherwise it wont work. The HOGS input is slightly larger, in which case I would have to continue with the process above
