Picked this up from the post office yesterday, shipped in from the states:
It's an Analogman Mini Bicomp, a dual compressor pedal ("mini" meaning it's the same size as your standard Boss units). The compressor on the right is a clone of the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, while the compressor on the left is a clone of the old classic Ross Compressor.
I've actually not had a chance to test it out yet, all I've done is mount it on my pedal board, hoping to give it a blast through on of my rigs tonight. This pedal replaced my trusty old Boss CS-3 Compressor which made its way back onto my live pedal board when my old Visual Sound Route 66 (also dual-fx pedal, OD and compression) started playing up a year or so back.
Why do I need two compressors on my board? I love compression! Essentially I've found over the years that having only one compressor meant that I had to either set it to sound good for funky clean rhythms (i.e. upping the attack, lowing the sustain) or set it to sound good for overdriven leads, where I prefer to up the sustain and reduce the attack. I don't like fiddling with my pedal controls: I like to "set and forget" when it comes to getting the tones I like. So anyway, I also don't have a huge amount of pedal real-estate to play with, so I'd decided two separate compressors wasn't an option. Then I stumbled across this pedal online, and after investigating further (Youtube and other reviews) I knew this pedal was the answer to my needs.
Hoping to put it through its paces this evening, will post a review when I get the chance.
