Cello is a wonderful instrument, often, as you say, overlooked. I've often enjoyed cello parts. I have a DVD at home of Edgar Meyer on double bass, Mark O'Connor (guitarist/violinist with the Dixie Dregs) on violin and Yo-Yo Ma on cello. All three contribute wonderful parts and show great taste and imagination. It's not a limited instrument by any means - limits may be imposed by the player, composer or arranger, but that's not the instrument's fault.
