OK. I'm back!

What a mission! Aside from Telkom woes, our microwave blew up and I lost my primary work PC's hard drive (not backed up of course). Otherwise just a hell of a lot of work and a million small things to do.

Our previous tenants had left the house in a mess . Studio was used as a workshop and stinks of oil, so I won't be moving back in there soon. I'm working in a cramped spare bedroom ATM.

Oh well, at least when the deal on the house we were in fell through, we still had a house to go to. ?

Now, if I may ask, why on earth did you put your primary work hard drive in the microwave?

If your PC was freezing up, I would suggest you use the oven next time, 180 degrees for 20 minutes should just about do it...

Sorry to hear...but welcome back. We once rented our flat to someone in Ctown... this guy drained the oil of his motorbike in the BATH ! ???

PCs actually made the move intact, but hard drive started acting up after the microwave tripped the mains and eventually upped and died. Still spins up, but I can't read from it. Fortunately I have another identical drive, so I'll swap circuits and try pull the data. Also now I have added incentive to get my backup server up and running again.
