Finally got some money out of the bank and decided to pop by Music Mate. After some shopping around (and using all my willpower to ignore the specials because I was there for an amp and only an amp :?) I finally settled on this one: Roland Cube-80XL. A few people recommended it to me and I've played around with one before. Have to say I'm really happy with it. Excuse the quality of the pics, had to take them with an old webcam.

The something extra is the hardcase I got in a trade for an old guitar of mine. The Tanglewood happened to be a perfect fit.

Cool! I used to own the cube60 and I am sure you will not be disappointed - a lot of power and potential in a tiny package. And they are bullet proof - you could probably drop it down a flight of stairs and it would still work.
      Congrats.

I've had a few Cube 60's myself. Solid, reliable little amps with some killer tones to be had if you take the time to dial them in... I prefer the simplicity and durability of the Cube range to most other solid state modelling amps to be honest... Still using a micro-cube for fun and convenience of battery power...

      Enjoy!
Sweet! I can vouch for that Cube 80XL. It packs a lot of punch.
hey congrats .. yep those cubes are like the "swiss army" knife for muso's it can do it all ........... and 80W is loud enough for most gigs and it's compact enough not to need a bakkie to get to gigs .........and yeah i 2nd that comment on nice looking guitar

          enjoy

Is the LP the Tanglewood? I've heard good things about them. It would be cool to see some better pics and hear how it compares to you Vintage?

Yeah, that would be the Tanglewood. Will get some better pics later, but there's one where I used it for a gig here for the time being: http://www.guitarforum.co.za/performance/gfsa%27rs-in-action-performance-pics-from-you/msg192008/#msg192008
Difficult to see from the pics, but I agree, great looking Les Paul. Dig the wood grain and vintage vibe...
