i have in last few years learnt to play percussion with my feet and a brush while i play my solo guitar ....so most solo guitar gigs are me but adding in my own percussion which is bass drum/ hi hat and some fills on a whole percussion setup i use ............ and for some gigs i add a whole percussionist to fill out the percussion even more ....so i kinda like the sound of guitar and percussion
BUT for this performance they wanted me just playing guitar ........... it felt so wierd but amazing at same time, i truly missed my own percussion i would have added, but also liked the clarity better or just the guitar ......... but this was a novelty for me, and instead of using my ZT lunchbox( which i use at most gigs) i decided to use my 15 W tube amp which is JP le roux version of a fender princeton he converted an old elk EL30 into for me . so princeton circuit elk frame and transformer and fender 12" speaker ....... i thought the tube amp would fatten up the sound a bit as i felt a bit naked with no percussion ....which also fills the sound ...... and the guitar is the Tokai Es155 i have at moment ( still up for sale ..see classifieds) ...... anyway a novely performance and i liked it , was fun but ................ ? i still like the percussion added
