Yup Hammeron, it's called an "Ashtray Cover" (I think), Fender used to have them on Teles and Strats in "the old days". But Ajileguitar will give you more detailed info on those!

Yes, all the early Teles and Strats came with the bridge covers. I don't know who would use one though.
I guess that's why they are called (ashtrays) probably the best use for them !!!

I am not the original owner of this guitar. I bought it in the late '70s. The previous owner must have one hell of a belt buckle !!!
At the time i was looking for a player that wasn't too expensive but I have always been disapointed with damage to the back.
None of my others show any real damage
