I've been using a Yamaha Magicstomp om my pedalboard for years and years for modulation effects and a handy tuner. Today, the left (mono) output just died. My setup is mono. The right output still works, but the left is dead. I tested the jack socket with a multi-meter and that's not the problem - so I think it's a output IC or something more serious.
2 questions:
1. What will I lose if I use the right output. My common sense tells me the signal is split in 2 to be stereo and I will then only be getting half of the signal? The left is specifically marked "mono".
2. If I have to, what do I replace it with? I've been searching the web but no effects units meet my criteria: compact (so that it fits on my board), has a tuner, no expression pedal, easy and FAST operation. The Line6 M5 came closest but it looks like a mission to switch between stomp boxes; that won't do as I have no time for that on stage. The Zoom G3 is perfect, but it is a Zoom. Don't know if trust/like Zoom - it's rather low-end, isn't it?
Any thoughts?

Unfortunately I can't tell you what's wrong with the Magicstomp, but I can tell you that I have had a Zoom 505II since 2005, and it still working a charm...
Sorry if this doesn't really help :-[
