For the LP Heads - the colour of a new '58 sunburst

This closet queen is entirely unfaded. Shows just how dark and red the original LP sunburst finish was. There are a few unfaded '60 'bursts, but they had a slightly different finish (hence not fading).

IMO it was a lucky thing that the finishes were unstable, leading to a much more subtle and attractive look as the crimson faded to orange and brown or disappeared entirely:

Yeah. Funny, ne? I reckon they're some of those expensive ultra distressed ones. Don't see the point since I've never found the decaying tuners attractive. But also maybe these are the original tuners, and the owner swapped them before stringing up? Seems like a likely scenario.

Man that is a gorgeous colour.
I call it Heritage Dark Cherry.

Need to order some guits in that colour...it's much cooler than regular Cherryburst.
