An interesting read at
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/rockandpopfeatures/9345104/The-Producers-interview-It-was-a-bit-like-a-holiday.html. Three top producers have formed a band.
An interesting bit...
“People think digital recording technology is limitless, but really, the limit is always your imagination. Electric guitars plugged into Marshall amps and speakers were used everywhere in the Sixties, but only two or three people got to grips with their potential: Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, maybe Pete Townshend. It’s the same with the marvels of technology now – only a few people do anything original with it.”
Also interesting for me were the comments about commercial viability.
Two of the three producers said they wouldn't deal with a band doing what they do because although it would be fun it wouldn't sell.
