Durban Guys - Group Buy for stuff available from AES (Tubesandmore.com)

I'm going to be placing an order for some parts early next month, and thought I'd pass on the opportunity for you guys to pick up any bits and pieces you need, at distributer prices as well as saving on shipping by sharing the shipping costs.

This is how it will work.

1.) I'm not actually going to buy anything from AES. I have another source, who is actually the distributer for most of what you see on AES, and so prices you will pay will be cheaper than what you see on AES.

2.) You browse the AES website (www.tubesandmore.com) and make a note of the Product code, Description and the Quantity of the items you want, and email it to me (PM me for my email address.)

3.) I will email you back and confirm the availability of what you want, as well as the dollar prices of the items you want to order.

4.) I will collate the orders and request a shipping quote. Your share of the shipping costs will be based on the value of your order/value of the total collated order placed.

5.) I will calculate the total estimated landed cost of your order in Rands, based on the prevailing Bank Selling R/$ exchange rate several days prior to placing the order, and will add VAT to this as well as your portion of the Handling fees. You confirm your order by depositing the total estimated landed cost of your order into my bank account. The cutoff for you to confirm your order and having deposited the money into my account will be Friday 29 June.

6.)On 3 July, I will place the confirmed order. I will note the actual amount deducted from my credit card at the time of ordering to determine the actual prevailing exchange rate used.

7.) I'll also note any duties charged on any items that attract duties at the time of collecting the package when it arrives. We will then square up any monies owed to me, over and above that already paid, or if you have overpaid, I will refund you any monies due.

7.) Goods will be for collection only. I'm generally out and about the greater Durban area so don't mind meeting you somewhere if its convienient for me.

8.) Would prefer to limit this to the Durban guys only. I don't really want to be posting stuff around the country, but if you're from another town and really want something, drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do. Any additional packaging costs and domestic postage/courier charges will be for your full account.

Just to add to this, if you have a valve amp, have a good look at the tubes available. I highly doubt you will find decent tubes at cheaper prices. Well, I haven't been able to anyway.

I would've if I was closer, but I live in Welkom. So the total cost on me would probably not justify buying locally.

Wow, they are a lot cheaper than Stewmac. I'm tempted for a Bigsby. I have some family in Durbs that can pick it up from you. I'll let you know soon if I make up my mind.

depends on what you're after. Speed Services counter to counter service is quite reasonable.

I can give you a comparative price from my source compared to the AES price if you post the part number. I can't confirm shipping costs until I know what else will be going into the final order.
