? Hahaha - well, at least I know for a fact that none of the guitars I am selling will be available at the TOMS sale. How does this compare with eth Sandton sale? Basically the same thing?
Sorry for being the eternal sceptic but seriously, that's the best poster they could come up with? I'm sure it'll be an awesome sale but I believe that because I want to believe that, not because their poster convinces me of it.
This sounds very exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing what you get yourself. Make it count, OK ?Giggsy wrote: Hmmnnn. Two days after my birthday... should have sold all my guitars for GAS money by then... the planets they are aligning 8)

you prob way too young to remember but theres a similarity/connection with this poster and one used to advertise the iconic woodstock festival back in sixties , similar drawing/art style but the hand was holding a 3 tuners a side guitar and there was a dove perched on the guitar neck , ? so a similar and reminicint look but now with the pointy , gouge your eye out headstock , anyway to me i saw it immeadly and i thought of woodstock / hendrix/acid flashbacksand free love , so prob designed by a deadhead ? refering to a greatful dead supporter , so maybe the design runs deeper or maybe coincidence , but not good marketing cos i bet most of this forum was only born in 70's or later , damn i'm getting old
Aha, paint me educated. I've done a quick google image search and found it fairly quickly:Keira WitherKay wrote:deefstes wrote: Sorry for being the eternal sceptic but seriously, that's the best poster they could come up with? I hope this poster has a lot of appeal to those who do remember the Woodstock poster but I still fear that it might put some of us off who are from a younger generation.
I instantly recognized the poster, and I'm an 80's baby. Obviously the Ibby headstock is a new addition. But I do prefer "older" music and I also have the Woodstock DVD which I watch religiously every few months or so, so it's pretty much been ingrained in my head as the "symbol" of Woodstock 69'
I think the poster is quite clever and I'm sure there will still be quite a few of the younger generation who will recognize it.

OK, let's hope so. All I'm saying is that I didn't recognise it and, had it not been for my positive experiences with TOMS in the past, it would probably have put me off from this sale.Luc wrote: I instantly recognized the poster, and I'm an 80's baby.
