Some may know that I have a jones'ing for an ESP Eclipse in satin black with silver trim. Initial ideas were to convert the Epiphone Special into a ESP'esque monster, albeit on limited funds. I have, however, grown to like the Epi just as it is, it works wonderfully. The flat body also put me off a little, I really want the arched top and contoured body of the ESP, it's one of its defining characteristics - an LP single cut-away shape that's comfortable to play.
So I've managed to find a cheap, second hand, sorry for itself LP-style guitar and have been contemplating buying it and re-finishing it for much less than the R7000+ that I'd spend on the Eclipse.
Keep an eye out here, I'll hopefully be posting regular strip / build pictures.
I can't play them, but I love playing with them!
( <- ooh look... 500)

Might go out and get it today, haven't gotten it yet. I'm trying to convince myself. I'm going to have to keep this a secret - Many will kill me if I spend more money on yet another guitar.
Got this feeling already, feels something like buyers remorse! ?

Dude, don't buy it if your not 100% sure... Rather wait and get what you really want. If you're planning on spending the dosh rather spend it on the guitar that'll make you feel "that it was all worth it".
just my 2 cents

I know what you're saying CDee, the thing is this is typical GAS behavior - spending money you don't have. It's only a few hundred... maybe I can budget it in such a way that I don't feel so guilty! ?

I understand... My dad normally tells me to buy a steel brush first. Then if it still itches, go and buy it. ?
