I've only got a picture of my Strat so far. Will take some more pictures of my other gear soon.

She's a 96 MIM Strat. Unfortunately she doesn't look quite so good any more - stupidly I didn't take my case when I picked her up from getting some work done and she slid off the car seat and put a big ding in the top. Doesn't affect playability (which is pretty shocking a after a R900 'set-up' anyway!) but I'm pretty hacked off at myself for that bit of stupidity.

Finally got round to taking photos of the rest of my gear.

Most of the commercial stuff is over 15 years old - I'd hate to have to buy it at todays prices.

Nice Mesa! A friend has a late 80's .50 Caliber Plus which I think sounds pretty good. Also really small for a 50W 12" Combo.

What do you think of the sound you get from yours? Has it been reliable? My mate's has conked out twice in the 5 years he's had it (which I suppose isn't that bad with heavy gigging?).

BTW, is that Fuzz Face Silicon or Germanium transistor (I'm a bit of a Fuzz head)?

Love the MESA! I recently checked out a Mark IV and the price turned me off...ZAR 32K. 'nuff said.

Hi guys,
Yeah love the Mesa, it's my baby. Been perfectly reliable but I don't gig so it gets an easy life. I actually bought it with my first ever pay check, which makes it many years old! Build quality is really good so I wouldn't expect any problems. I just replace all the (original) tubes this year, need to get round to replacing the caps.

The fuzz face is a silicon transistor based one, no way to get hold of germanium transistors in this country, unless you salvage them from some old gear. Don't think I'll bother though - the bias drift due to temperature changes is horrific. I've actually since built a new circuit to go in there, used different transistors and added a trim pot to adjust the bias, sounds much better. It's a very easy build and all the parts are available from Yebo electronics (http://www/fort777.co.za, they do cheap, quick online orders.
