Thank you. :-[
To be honest, 'the collection' has taken over a little... I'm a player and not really into collecting (at this stage). I've received a lot out of playing on a variety of instruments, though. I find that it forces you to play with consistently correct technique due to the variation in how they differ from each other -opposed to getting to know one instrument exceptionally well to the point that you can sometimes develop "cheats" that work on a certain axe but could prove to be just a bad habit on another...
I'm probably going to sell most of my 'collection' off at some stage... Having too many (for me) has proven to be more of a distraction than anything else and I'm sick of changing strings on so many guitars... I've had most of the guitars I've always wanted and I'm at a point where I prefer to have just enough to offer the tones I'm after. I'm also tired of having certain instruments that I feel I should wrap in cotton and run after with a lappie for fear of blemishing them... It's reached a point where it actually detracts from the joy... I'd rather spend more time with less so that I can bond with them more and get to know them more intimately... I blame my Stratocaster which has radically changed my approach to guitars. I'm looking to keep the most versatile guitars only and aim to focus on getting everything out of them first before considering buying more again. (Last famous words until that 'bargain' comes along again, I suppose...) I do believe this approach will benefit my playing and song-writing more than having too much has. Then again, maybe I'm just being weird... :?
