Just need some advice on the MIM Fender Blacktop Tele.

Anything really. The sound, the quality, the feel/playability, the versatility.
Also compared to likes of an Epi les paul std or the lower end Gretsch's which are in and around the same price range

Hey man

I just bought one of these Blacktop Tele's off Musicians friend last week. It was delivered about an hour ago so I cant give u a personal take on it yet as I havent even opened the packaging. But before I bought it I did do some research.
Ok from a sound perspective, the consensus seems to be the same with every review I've read from every owner who wrote one, it sounds, feels and plays great. However there where a few, quite a few people who had issues with the build quality. Some people complained about loose necks, faulty tuners, faulty selector switches. All on brand new units. And then there were those who said it came from the factory in perfect condition, even a perfect setup. So I dont really know, it could have been a bad batch. But from a sound perspective, even these people who had these build issues, they also complimented the sound.
