Such a fine player. I remember the first time I heard his playing, on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" album. It's one of those moments when a player steps forward and you feel your ears twitching to get closer to the marvellous sound that suddenly popped out of the mix. On an album full of fine players he was so good that he still shone out.
