I make no apologies for being a HUGE Slash fan. After all, it was him who inspired me to pick up a guitar and learn to play in the first place.
Having said that, my first listen through his new album left me a little dissappointed. Especially after his previous album, where there were at least 4 tracks that immediately jumped out at me. Apocalyptic Love had nothing that instantly grabbed my attention, and to be honest, I hadn't given the album another listen, until this week.
Fast forward to this past weekend. I was watching some videos from some of the band's recent shows, and really enjoyed a couple of the new songs. Decided to go back and give the album another listen, and have listened to it several times since and am pleasantly surprised. It took me a while to get into, but now that I've had a few listens, there are some great tracks and superb guitar playing. Tracks that stand out for me so far are We Will Roam, Not for Me, Anastasia, No more Hero's and Halo.
How about the rest of you who have had a listen to the album? What are your thoughts?
