The bass face thread

Bob-Dubery

You know, those funny faces that the guys who can only manage four strings pull (I presume it's when they're concentrating real hard). Let's see some classic examples.

I'll kick off with this beauty (ahem)

That's Taras Prodaniuk (Richard Thompsn, Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakam)

Rules: Entries must depict somebody who is provably a gigging bass guitarist, in a playing situation. So ixnay on some air bassist gurning in his bedroom, or photoshopped pics of your bull dog and your jazz bass.

I'll chip in with this one...

Anthony Jackson (Dizzy Gillespie, Lalo Schifrin, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, Chick Corea, Billy Cobham, Al Di Meola, Donald Fagen, Steve Gadd, Wayne Krantz, Pat Metheny, Dave Grusin, Mike Stern, Dave Weckl, Lee Ritenour etc.)

In his favour though, that's a lot of strings

Squonk

Flea doesn't have to play bass to have a bass face

Anthony Jackson is AWESOME!!! Everything about him...image & all. Would he have been this cool had he been 50KGs lighter? I don't think so.
