What year?
In the late 70s, early 80s the artist range more or less was
AR100 - 2 humbuckers
AR300 - 2 humbuckers with splitters and a phase switch
AR500 - 2 humbuckers, splits, phase, pre-amp, EQ
These days what's sold as a 300 is more like the old 100.
Also the old ones had more massive hardware which, I think, may boost sustain.
Not that I'm saying that the new 300 isn't any good (the old 100s were), but just find out what's on offer so that you can tell us what's on offer so that we can have a better idea of what to tell you.

On the whole Ibanez guitars are solidly built ,especially the older ones(Korean made) and these models are beauties generally.Seems a bit expensive though,for 3k it would be great deal.For 4k? If you REALLY like the feel and sound,maybe.
