I bought this Takamine from a fellow forum member a week ago and have had sleepless nights ever since!

The build quality and action are first class. The tone is distinctly different to my Yamaha G230, noticeably brighter and punchier.

Nylon is my first love but I had drifted towards Steel in the last couple of years, mainly because the old Yamaha was not really Gig worthy.

She's so beautiful that I am a bit scared to let rip, so a lot of Gentle playing has been taking place. Still building up a bit of courage before I try some Rodrigo y Gabriella. Tamacun here we come!!

Very nice! The spruce top will be a tad more resilient than a cedar one, my Yamaha has a cedar top and that thing gets marks in it from playing Bach. ☹

Are you adding a golpeadore (tap plate) before trying the R & G? :yup:
Guitar tech in Pta fitted mine with a thin one that is almost not visible and it protects the top 100% regardless of the percussion I do on the body.

@ Conrad - thanks for the advice, will have a go. I can't scratch or damage this guitar!

@ Greg - I was a bit wary of the spruce top as opposed to the cedar top for tone, but this guitar sounds good!

I have Spruce on the Raimundo and it has great attack for flamenco-esque anything.

Nice one Squonk! I like the Tak nylons (a lot! I still wouldn't mind having a Hirade H8) I wondered who was going to be the lucky new owner of that one when it was first posted, so nice to know it's gone to a good home.

I also started on nylon and returned to it later, there's nothing quite like 'em. I've done more than a few gigs with nothing but nylon lately (chance for Viccy to get back at me there ?).
