Piano with vocals recording - please comment

Hey guys.

Me and our vocalist took a 30min session Friday and recorded a new (incomplete) song. We did everything in the first take so there are quite a few mistakes here and there, but I don't really want feedback on the song itself, but more on the recording. I recorded it solely to experiment with Reaper. This is my first EVER recording it's not with the best equipment. I'm really getting into it and I'm investing in better gear soon.

Please let me know where I could have done better on the recording side, honestly I'm especially still quite clueless on how to operate EQ so it was kind of a hit and miss. Also, any places I can check out online with good tutorials for mixing/mastering?

P.S. Also excuse my lack of a sustain pedal, I still need to get one ?

OK...the vocals are too much in the background with the piano too much to the fore. IOW, the balance in the recording is not right..... But that's easy to correct during mix down.
