Bob-Dubery From a guitaring point of view, spend some time listening to the masters - especially James Burton, Scotty Moore and Chuck Berry (there are arguments about his greatness player, but he's influential and his style goes a long way to defining "rock 'n roll"). Buddy Holly and Carl Perkins were on the country-ish end of the rock 'n roll spectrum. Listen to early Beatles - George was very much a rock 'n roll player early on. There are lots of modern players with some traces of rock 'n roll in their playing, but it might not be there every time they play, and it's easier to spot if you're familiar with the originals. So check out the originals first, then you may be surprised how much rock 'n roll you start hearing in other styles and players. Here's Burton playing with one of the Elvises (Elvii?)
