Have Gibson started Fender-ising their colours??

Just look at those colours and tell me they arent Fender inspired?!
sunburst, not so much... but the iverness green, the pelham blue, the radiant red and the silver pearl look way too much like Fender colours to be a coincidence...
thoughts??
MikeM
Yes, excluding Pelham Blue. Gibson have been doing wild colours for a while though...

It looks to me like Fender and Gibson have been trying to emulate each other for some time now, trying to capture a share of the other's market. I've seen "Fenders" (well, that's what it said on the headstock) with bound, flame tops and/or stop tailpieces. And humbuckers ? Even sunburst semi-acoustics with humbuckers (I hope you had the smelling salts handy before you read that sentence).
It's about trying to attract new customers. Gibson and Fender are, after all, businesses.

i dont quite see the LP shape suiting those "wacky" colours though?!
LP's in my eyes look better in the bursts!
Fender's, and especially strats, lok awesome in those colours , and even bursts... but i suppose they're just giving into consumer demand as well as trying to garner new clients, like you say XRB.

There've been a lot of famous LPs that weren't 'bursts. Pelham Blue is a long-time Gibson colour. Also, this is their budget, affordable model, and they presumably shift a ton of them. So they can afford to be experimental.

Pelham blue looks hot, wine red is typically gibson and silver is also quite Gibson.
Better than this
