Anybody had any experience with these products? Is polish recommended in general?

Some may shoot me down in flames, but as most guitar finishes, Fender especially, are automotive finishes, I use car polish. Meguiars Tech Wax to be specific. " A lttle will do ya". The prices in your link are crazy ! ! Maybe once a year I will give my RW boards a once over with Planet Waves Lemon Oil. Other than that, a regular wipe down with a microfibre cloth is all that should be required.

Any guitar polish with silicon oil in is a very bad idea. Get the Dunlop or Martin polish (or just about anything branded with a guitar maker's brand.

I have this polish at the moment...

It is not silicone based.. I have two Ibanez guitars. A Gio and a Custom 2350. Really do not want to damage thee custom so I really have to be sure about what I use.

It is usually nitro finishes you have to be careful with, they will even react to a guitar stand. The poly finishes are pretty bulletproof. If you are concerned, test it on a small area on the back first and see what happens. I got some polish from Marshall music and it was only something like R30.
