Hey... so there is a bass that I want but its in Cape Town. And I am in Joburg. Would anyone be kind enough to pick it up for me, and when you have time, post it to JHB? I'd of course reimburse you for all the costs? Just waiting to confirm, but I think the guy is in Strandfontein (Wynberg and Plumstead are also mentioned).

Just sign up for an account with MDS Collivery (aubs turned me on to them). They'll pick it up from the seller and deliver right to you. As long as the guitar is in a case (although three packing straps help too) or a box (or both) it should be fine. Not too expensive if you take the normal road freight option (three or four days). Definitely far cheaper than any postage option for larger items (which is where Speed Services or Parcel post get very expensive).
Even if it's the exchanging money thing and you want someone you know to do the actual deal, you can still use MDS to get it from your friend rather than the buyer.
