Volume bypass

Has anyone made a volume bypass switch? Im thinking if you roll back the volume for some clean tones on a valve amp and then flip the switch, bypass the volume pot, and boom! Crunchy Tones. Or roll down the volume completely and get a stutter effect. How would one go about doing this on a guitar with 2 humbuckers, three way switch, 1 volume, 1 tone?

Iv'e searched the internet and I only found useless answers...

Simple enough with a master volume guitar - you just bypass the volume with a DPDT switch. Stutter usually just goes between the pot and the output, but the bypass will work. The only thing is ideally you need a momentary action for stutter and a latching for bypass - so there is a little bit of a compromise in operation for that (not a huge one - consider that the original way to stutter was simply turning down one volume on a Les Paul and then toggling between two positions with the three way selector).

Thanks, do you think I would be able to order such a switch at my local music shop? And would this also bypass the tone pot? If the tone pot is bypassed would the sound be more bassy or more treble? :-\

Depends on the shop. ? It's a common switch type, often used for phase, cutting coils on two pickups at once or series/parallel switching. But many shops you'll struggle to find a decent jack socket or a pot, let alone a DPDT 2-way mini-toggle.

And would this also bypass the tone pot?

Depends on how you wire it, so whatever you want. You could even have it switch to a preset tone circuit.

More treble. Slightly more than with the tone on full.
