Badapple I went to visit my grandfather today and when he heard I had taken up guitar he decided that he will give me his guitar. I searched the serial number on this website: http://guitardaterproject.org/ibanez.aspx. Turns out it was made in 1977 at the Terada Plant, Japan. My grandfather bought it fir my uncle back in 1977 and then my grandfather bought it from him when he moved to Canada in 1982. Since then the guitar has just been in the case and never played till now. It is all original (as far as I know). The only thing not original are the strings (obviously) and it doesn't have the original cable that goes to the amp. Further it is all original, came with the case as well. Will take better pictures tomorrow outside. Now for the PHOTO'S: One crack on the underside: I think it looks fairly good considering the age. Any ideas on what it is worth, I will NEVER sell it. My grandfather and I are just curious. Hope you guys appreciate it. Let me know what you think. :goodtimes:
DonRoos Looks great but needs a little TLC to bring it back to life. You might want to join Ibanez Collectors World (http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/forum/index.php) or Ibanez Forum (http://forum.ibanez.com/) for help on valuing it. Also if you want to meet with other owners of these great instruments. Welcome to the club. What a gift to receive.

Here is a track I played on it. It is a work in progress. Still learning it. Just a sample so you can hear what it sounds like.
Sean Great condition hey. Congrats, really nice guitar. Methinks the Gio is going to go untouched for awhile ? I see it was built in what is considered the "golden period" by some. Enjoy!

TomCat Absolutely fantastic gift. When I was at school in Cape Town (1970's..... ??? ???), one of my school friends had one of these. I wonder if he still has his...... Get it to a good guitar tech for a proper set up and she'll probably play like a dream......
Badapple Is that one of the lawsuit era Ibbys? Yes I believe it is the 2350 post-lawsuit. Absolutely fantastic gift. Get it to a good guitar tech for a proper set up and she'll probably play like a dream...... Thanks. It is worth finding out ?. Yeah I know a local musician who will be able to do it for me ?. :goodtimes:
DonovanB That really is a thing of beauty. I have a weakness for black with gold hardware. But not the hip-hop variety
singemonkey Hey congrats. A lot of these old Ibanez customs are real players. Enjoy it. Unfortunately, bolt-on Ibanez Customs are not worth that much, and the crack would further bring down the value. But who cares. Play it and enjoy it.

kapepper Thats a nice guitar, and a great gift from your grandfather But indeed, value wise is this not the jackpot maybe a few thousand rands (3k max?) (it would have been betetr if it was a copy of a ES 175 or even a SG model)
