Well I'm thankfully in my last year of high school and I made a post a while back about studying Sound Engineering, most of you said it's best to skip the college and spend the money towards equipment and so on.
In the meantime I've started editing videos and I actually discovered an even bigger love for it. Now.. I was just thinking if studying Post Production is a good way to go or also a nogo? The college I'm interested in (Academy of Sound Engineering) provides a 3 year course and lets you specialize in your final year as I understand it.
I know a friend who studied post production there and landed a job as assistant editor at Mnet for The Wild shortly after - well obviously he was lucky, but is it worth going into for me?
Another question, I read a few overseas articles on people with the same types of questions and a lot of the answers was for them to rather get an internship at a place. Is this possible in SA? If it is, how do I go on doing this?
Sorry for the longish post, but I want to do my research before going into something, it's my life we're talking about ?
Thanks.

A surfing buddy of mine just recently got contracted to Mauritius to do sound for movies. He's 25. I don't know if that is quick for something like this to happen soon after studying but ja, thought it was worth a mention.
